Ekiben (Train Bento)
Buy a bento box at Tokyo Station before boarding β eating ekiben on the shinkansen is a quintessential Japan experience!
Where: "Ekiben" shops are everywhere in Tokyo Station, especially near the shinkansen gates.

July 17 is one of the biggest nights of Gion Matsuri! The mikoshi (portable shrine) processions happen in the evening.

Where: Shijo-dori and surrounding streets in central Kyoto
About Gion Matsuri
Gion Matsuri is one of Japanβs most famous festivals, running throughout July with peak events on:
- July 17: Yamaboko Junko parade (morning) + evening festivities
- July 24: Second parade + evening events
Youβre arriving on the 17th β perfect timing for the evening atmosphere!
